Danzinger’s main claim to fame is that he was ranked 35 in the list of the top ‘100 people who are screwing up America’.

His entry states that:
“Danzinger made a cartoon depicting Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice as a ignorant black maid. Danzinger and other liberals are unfairly allowed to use racist imagery as long as its aimed against conservatives.”
Stereotyping seems to be his trade.
I’m not sure that the Irish Times helps the cause when one of their Lisbon reports is filed from Kitty O’Shea’s in Brussels. But maybe that does reflect how we’re seen in Brussels, the good natured drinkers who occasionally make a bit of a scene.

I’m sure the US has better things to do that call the Irish drunk & violent.
Though, I have to admit I don’t see a hint of that in the cartoon.

Tell me exactly what is wrong with that cartoon.
I think that the cartoon shows more insight than most political and economic commentators here in relation to the Lisbon debate that was about everything except the Lisbon treaty.
bernie goldberg is a regular guest on the bill o’reilly show on fox news. they usually lambast ‘the drive-by liberal media’ for mocking conservatives such as sarah palin.

Quite right. This notion of “old man Europe” is sooo 19th century.
There is nothing wrong with that cartoon. I found it funny and insightful — and it certainly beats listening to the reams of uninformed commentary we get in this country about the U.S.
Obviously everything Jeff Danziger knows about the Irish he learned from Brennan’s Bread ads.
Where is the whiskey, three legged stool and potatoes boiling in the cast iron pot on the crane over the open fire. Do not forget the thatched cottage with the half door and the pigs in the background. What Danziger knows about Irish stereotypes would fit on the back of a postage stamp.
