Heard about the Midlands County Council Chairman who has to absent himself from any discussions on planning issues related to wind energy projects?

The Chairman says, “Because I’m working for a company [Element Power] and because the wind energy question is on the go at the moment I am staying out of it”.

Ah, the wonders of Google (when they’re not tracking my every movement).

@Colm

Thank you for organising this lecture. I thought Christian Hilber delivered a very interesting lecture on land use regulation etc. . I was sad to see so few people there–for the country that has just created one of the greatest bank and property crashes in the history of mankind,one might have thought we might want to learn something. I hope to email you on An Taisce’s report on the various county councils ranking on bad planning. Perhaps you might try to obtain a copy of Christian’s lecture.

Christian mentioned incentives work as we know from the bank crash–if you incentivise bankers to lend money–they will.
