    Very best of luck to Alan. I hope he doesn’t find the politics too frustrating.

    Mr. Lenihan’s comment “I tend to be a bit of an optimist myself, but it is important to bring in all kinds of views,” does make it look like Alan might have his work cut out.

    Does having both Alan and Colm here mean that this site is now at the cutting edge of government economic policy?

    I think it is great to see the State relying on available talent and not trying to go it alone. The mix is likely good as well because there is a good blend of academia with practitioner in having both CM and AH advising.
