The CSO are undertaking the ECB’s Household Finance and Consumption survey for the first time with the results due to be published later this year.

A view which suggests that the latest super-star economist, like quite a few of his predecessors, is just plain wrong in his conclusions; at least as far as the UK is concerned (and equally with regard to his native country).

As Piketty addresses issues raised in that Grauniad article head-on in his book, and picks apart the limitations of the Gini coefficient as an indicator of inequality, my suspicion is that the author of the article found the book too long and didn’t bother reading it.
