  1. That Wikipedia piece scrapes the barrel a bit to hint that there was a ‘fundamental’ trigger in the Gulf. On Monday 19th stockbrokers were not fielding any inquiries about the potential implications of ships being shot at in the Middle East.

    There is remarkably little interest in market dislocations, unless they are either under-way or recent. That is probably part of the reason they happen…
