The Central Statistics Office, Financial Accounts Division, National Accounts has released “Institutional Sector Accounts: Financial 2001 – 2007 (Revised)”.

I notice from these statistics that household sector borrowing as a percentage of GNP almost doubled from 59% to 115% between 2001 and 2007 (while the household financial assets % remained almost static).
