Will the Independent FAC be publishing a pre-Budget 2014 “fiscal assessment report” for the Government to acknowledge, note and ignore?
How heartening to hear the IFAC being referred to by the Government – can’t recall if it was Min Noonan or jnr Min Hayes – as an “authoritative body” but alas, it was referred to as but one of a number of “authoritative bodies” whose budget submissions would be considered. Other “authoritative bodies” include IBEC (nothing against IBEC, but did we really expect IFAC to be relegated to the level of being a mere lobbying body that costs us €1m per annum?)
