Irish government Brexit contingency plans

An interesting article in the Irish Times on the Irish government’s approach to dealing with potential issues arising from yesterday’s news from the UK. It includes a link to an 8-page pdf summarising the main actions by different areas of government policy.

When you think about the history of Ireland and England and the power relations, Brexit is a suicidal act sans pareil. I can imagine the Tudors going tsk tsk. Appalling statecraft. Selling the country for a Daily Mail fantasy. Nietzsche said that insanity is rare in individuals but that it tends to be the rule amongst nations.

The British may have climbed onto the scaffold and put a nose around their neck, but the 6 founding EC members (and Juncker) seems in an awful hurry to pull the trap door!
